Movie & TV Show Reviews

Netflix: A Series of Unfortunate Events; First impression after episode 1 (no spoilers)

Of course this show airs Friday the 13th! Haha (there will be no spoilers in this post).

This show is based on the children’s novel series with the same name written by Lemony Snicket (the pen name of American author Daniel Handler). Actors in this show are Neil Patrick Harris (who you might know from How I Met Your Mother), and Peter Warburton (who you might know from Rules of Engagement or Family Guy), among a number of other known actors.

The theme song (see YouTube clip that I’ve so ingeniously put in this post), is of course sung by Neil Patrick Harris, because who else should be singing this theme song, right?! If you haven’t listened to the theme song yet, do it now. My thoughts on the theme song; absolutely brilliant! I haven’t come across a TV Show with a theme song that literally says; do not watch this series because it’s only doom and despair… Which of course will make the audience want to watch this show even more because we want to know why we are advised NOT to watch this show.

If you have seen the trailer of this series, you kind of know what to expect. My expectations were not sky high because I simply expected a lot of weirdness (the trailer seemed absolutely bizarre to me, bizarre in a good way!). And as it turned out, it was quite like I had expected it to be (again: bizarre in a good way!). I will not tell you anything about the actual episode, because I want you to look at this show yourself if you’re interested, but I will tell you that the pilot episode was better than I expected it to be. Even though the show really urged me not to watch this, I’ve decided not to listen, and simply continue watching this show.

From next week onwards I will post one review/impression per episode, and each post will contain information about the actual episode. Be prepared because there will be spoilers in those reviews/impressions.

If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, but are interested; here is the trailer:

My Happy Moments #5

My Happy Moments

Good day everyone!

Oh my, how time flies right? I haven’t been that active lately because of Christmas, my birthday (I’m 22 now :D), new year, and preparing for my end terms in January, but I’m kinda back! Hurray! Be prepared for some study related posts in the near future.

But, since this is a happy moment post, let’s talk about why I’m happy! Here’s a list for your convenience (and mine :’)):

  1. I got a tablet for my birthday! My boyfriend gave it to Β me and I’m extremely happy with it. I’m even using it to write this post right now! How awesome right? And sweet, very sweet *nods *
  2. My parents gave me a freaking sword for my birthday! No idea if I already mentioned it, but I’ll just say it again. It’s so shiny and beautiful ^^ I think I’m in love :’)
  3. My boyfriend has a new bed πŸ˜€ why does that make me happy? Well, I won’t have to sleep on the floor anymore so that’s pretty good xD
  4. I passed Β the first end term, quite well if I can say so myself, that I made before the holidays!
  5. Did I mention the sword? Look at it!15774707_1373283416037302_8317022254800337039_o
  6. After my end terms I have the rest of January to not do anything that has to do with uni!!

Well, this was my list of happy things. What did you Β get for Christmas? And how is the new year treating you so far? Happy new year folks and let’s make it a good one! Filled with books and cool stuff πŸ˜€

My Happy Moments #4; or My Top 10 Favourite Things To Do While Procrastinating

My Happy Moments

Hello dear people of this planet!

Today’s post is not so much about being happy about something in particular and more about how I am happily procrastinating my life away :’)
It’s nearly exam time, essay deadlines are ready to hit me in the face, but I like to live life dangerously, and that is why I decided to write today’s post: My Top 10 Favourite Things To Do While Procrastinating. It’s probably going to be the most useless post you’ll ever read, but this is a part of me procrastinating, so yeah…

Today, I will give you a list of my favourite things to do while procrastinating! How exciting that I can share my weirdness with the world πŸ˜€ This list of 10 things is in no particular order.

  1. Netflix and chill. Everyone knows this and it definitely has to be in this list.
  2. Writing. This includes writing for blogs, Facebook, twitter, for fun, and everything else that has nothing to do with what you actually should be doing.
  3. Watching YouTube videos. Really guys, you should watch Man at Arms Reforged. This is an awesome series as it were where a team makes historically correct sword, cosplay swords, hammers, bows, and a whole lot of other awesome things. Really, check them out! For an episode see the link at the end of the post.
  4. Read. Again, anything that has nothing to do with what you actually should be reading. I.e. Read that book that has been waiting on your bookshelf, and has been calling to you for ages. Re-read that other book that has been patiently waiting, or take a look around the World Wide Web.
  5. Making photos. You can go out for a walk or stay at home and take all those cute pictures of your pets.
  6. Sleep.
  7. Eat. You can make it as crazy as you want! You can even decide to make a warms breakfast, lunch and dinner!
  8. Making a planning instead of doing what was on your previous planning.
  9. Clean your room/house. They need attention too, and at least you’ll be busy for a couple of hours at least. Don’t worry, you’ll be doing something useful πŸ˜€
  10. Shopping. This can be you going outside to do some old fashioned shopping, or you can do it on your computer/laptop/mobile phone/other device.
